Adrian P. Schoone, born in the Town of Harrison, Lincoln County, Wisconsin, December 5, 1935; admitted to bar, 1959, Wisconsin. Education: Marquette University (B.S., 1957; LLB., cum laude, 1959). Alpha Sigma Nu. Editor-in-Chief, Marquette Law Review, 1958-1959, President Marquette law Alumni Inc., 1976-1977. Member: Wisconsin Legislative Council, Special Committee on Products Liability, 1978-1980; Wisconsin Judicial Commission, 1986-1992; Wisconsin Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility, 1992-1998. Member: Racine County and American Bar Associations; State Bar of Wisconsin (President, 1983-1984; Treasurer, 1978-1981; Chairman, Judicial Appointment and Compensation Committee, 1970-1971; Chairman, Litigation Section, 1976-1977): American Association for Justice; Fellow, American Bar Foundation (Life Member).

Adrian P. Schoone graduated first in his class from Marquette University Law School. He has tried more than 250 jury cases to verdict, appearing in Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota courts. His practice concentrates on personal injury, business and agricultural claims. He has represented or advised farmers throughout the country in dozens of matters, many involving mink losses.

In a lawsuit representing a prominent southeastern Wisconsin real estate developer, he went to verdict against the developer’s bank on three separate occasions, ultimately resolving the matter on a confidential basis. He obtained a seven figure verdict for the victim in a Rock County, Wisc. medical malpractice case. Several years ago, he established the precedent of recovering for a real estate developer against a municipality, for the overcharging of its consulting engineer.

Besides his successful law practice continuing for more than 50 years, Schoone served his profession and the public as President of the State Bar of Wisconsin; Chairperson of the Wisconsin Judicial Commission; was charged with the investigation and discipline of Wisconsin judges accused of misconduct; Chairperson of the Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility (now Office of Lawyer Regulation); and was charged with the investigation and prosecution of Wisconsin attorneys accused of misconduct.

In 2012, Marquette University Law School recognized Schoone’s accomplishments with its Lifetime Achievement Award. Schoone has contributed more than $1 Million to his alma mater, most recently with $500,000+ to establish the Adrian P. Schoone Fund for the Study of Wisconsin Law and Legal Institutions.
